DIY St. Patrick’s Day Playdough Kit | Sound Shore Moms of Westchester

I’m sure by now, we’ve all seen the different kinds of amazing (but expensive) playdough kits that are out there. I’ve bought my kids a few and while I love them, I’d really rather not buy a new one for every season and holiday. I decided to make my own using different sensory objects I found on Amazon that can be reused over and over again like plastic jewels, gold coins and themed cookie cutters. I added in some St. Patrick’s Day themed resin shamrocks and rainbows from local mom run Etsy shop, The Stemsory Experience. She also has some really fun resin items for Easter including pastel peeps, Easter eggs and springy flowers. My kids couldn’t wait to play with these and it bought me just enough time to actually enjoy a hot cup of coffee (which is obviously what’s really important here, right?)

What You’ll Need

Playdough – I bought for the convenience but you can find a no cook recipe here

Mini rolling pins

Gold coins

Silicone baking cups (to hold little items – I also use these in their lunchboxes!)

Cookie Cutters

Plastic gems

Plastic activity trays

Thank you to Red Wagon Boston for the shamrock sweater! We can’t wait to rock our shamrocks on St. Patty’s Day!
