Where are you from originally and where do you live now?
I’m originally from the beautiful Panama City, Panama, and now live in Rye Brook. We
moved to the U.S. seven years ago (time really flies!). We started out in Boston, then spent
some time in Miami, and now we’ve settled in New York.
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
I have two boys—my 7-year-old and my 3-year-old (who thinks he’s 7) They’re my best
buddies and the inspiration behind everything I do!
What is your professional background and how did you get into photography?
My background is in Marketing, where I spent most of my career working for leading
beauty brands like Estée Lauder, Shiseido, and L’Oréal. Photography had always been a
passion of mine, though I never considered it as a profession. That changed when my
eldest son turned 6 months old—I purchased my first camera and immersed myself in
various online courses taught by acclaimed photographers. I began photographing friends,
and before I knew it, I had my own photography studio right here in Old Greenwich!
What services do you offer?
I specialize in Newborn and Family Photography both at home, outdoors or in my all-white
natural light studio. Right now, because this is Family Photos Season, I am offering a
limited amount of Family Mini Sessions as well!
How do you describe your photography style?
I describe my style as a balanced blend of candid and posed photos. This means a mix of
natural shots that capture genuine laughs and cuddles, along with more traditional poses
where everyone is looking at the camera. I really enjoy personalizing each session by
meeting with Mom beforehand to plan outfits, discuss locations, and get to know the kids.
This helps break the ice and makes the session feel comfortable from the very start,
allowing us to jump right in and have fun. This process really helps to capture those
beautiful moments in front of the camera.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
This is a tough one! It might sound cliché, but I really love every part of the process when it
comes to a photoshoot. From getting to know the mom, meeting the kids, and capturing
those special moments, to guiding the family through poses, editing the shots, and finally
delivering the images—it’s all so rewarding. I also love looking back at past sessions
because it always brings such joy to see all the beauty captured!
We love to support local! What are some of your go to spots here in the Sound Shore
area?
My favorite sushi place is OKO in Rye! The sushi is so fresh, and the service is amazing!
Another favorite place is Gordito Kitchen, also in Rye, the atmosphere is incredible!
Do you have anything special going on right now?
Yes! In addition to the Mini Sessions which are 15-minute Sessions on select dates and
locations (check out my Instagram @nicoleneiraphotography for more details) I have a
