We are so excited to feature you as our Meet a MOM this week! Congratulations on your baby boy! How is motherhood so far?
Admittedly, I was nervous to have my first baby. I didn’t know the first thing about motherhood! It’s been the most incredible experience though. It’s taught me grace, introduced me to a kind of love I didn’t know existed, and upped my multi-tasking game to a whole new level! It’s also demonstrated to me the importance of having a network of moms to laugh with, commiserate with, and bounce ideas off of.
Love that! Many of us can relate to this experience. What is your professional background and how did you get into personal training and
fitness?
I started as a personal trainer over 15 years ago. I was a professional dancer at the time, looking for a flexible job that would allow me to go on auditions and attend rehearsals as needed. My first client (who I still train to this day!) lost over 80 pounds. While her aesthetic changes were impressive, I was truly in awe of the shift in her confidence level. Helping others realize their own strength is by far the most fulfilling experience, and I’m lucky I get to partake in that journey regularly.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
It’s hard to choose just one part! I’m an anatomy nerd and I’m fascinated by what our bodies are capable of, so I love delving into continuing education. I also love that I get to meet new people regularly. I have a newfound appreciation and understanding of the importance of physical activity throughout pregnancy and the postpartum journey. While I’m not picking favorites, I do love working with new moms!
