Where are you from originally and where do you live now?
Victoria: I was born and raised across the Long Island Sound in Douglaston, NY. I now live in our third house in Larchmont. There are so many fabulous houses it was hard for me to stay put!
Keelan: That’s always a difficult question! I usually say I’m from the Northeast, but I did spend seven years in Georgia when I was younger. When my husband and I were moving out of the city, we sought a walkable town near the Long Island Sound. We chose Larchmont and absolutely love it!
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
Victoria: Four: a son that is 21 and daughters 19, 16, 13.
Keelan: Three: My oldest son is almost 15 and just started high school at MHS. My daughter is 13 and in 8th grade at the Hommocks. And my youngest just turned 11.
What is your professional background and how did you get into Interior Design?
Victoria: I was an elementary school teacher prior to having children. As we raised our children, I kept myself super busy by tackling house projects. I completed two major renovations, bringing old Larchmont gems back to life, as well as designing and managing the construction of a new build. Finally, I told my husband, “I need to go into business or else I’ll want to keep moving!” After taking online classes during covid, I officially opened the doors to Delancey House in 2021. With a growing list of projects and clients, I was thrilled to bring Keelan on board in 2024. I have always found what I do fun, and now it’s even more fun to have a partner in fun!
Keelan: I studied Marketing in college and spent the first part of my career in sales and marketing, always leaning toward the creative side. I’ve always had a love for design, whether it’s fashion, landscape, or interiors. Over time, that creative passion naturally evolved into a focus on interior design.
What services do you offer?
We offer full service residential interior design, from space planning and color consultations to sourcing furnishings, décor, and finishing touches. Whether you’re refreshing a single room or redesigning your entire home, we work closely with clients to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional.
How do you describe your own personal interior style?
Victoria: Curated, personal, sophisticated, comfortable, welcoming, and layered. I lean towards designs with staying power. The most gracious homes are those that don’t look like they were designed yesterday and in five years won’t look like they were designed five years ago.
Keelan: I’d describe my style as modern traditional, a soothing, calm foundation with pops of color or unexpected elements that catch the eye. I love incorporating natural materials and textures that bring movement and warmth to a space. I love layering, whether it be rugs in a great room or arranging objects on a coffee table.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Victoria: Helping a space reach its full potential. Bringing joy into a space and knowing how many people it will affect is powerful. The book “Joyful, The Surprising Power of Ordinary Things To Create Extraordinary Happiness” is a wonderful book that validated so many of my instincts in design. We should all live in joyful spaces and it’s my mission to create as many as I can, ha!
Keelan: Helping someone enhance their space to make it liveable, joyful, and beautiful. Working daily with a friend is truly an added bonus.
What is one piece of advice you have for a homeowner contemplating an interior design project?
Go for it! One of our favorite mantras is “Go Big At Home.” Think about how much time you spend in your home. Now multiply that number by the number of people living in your home. That’s a lot of hours! You should invest in your home accordingly and not wait for that vacation to get to your oasis, make your oasis your home.
Do you see a trend in what clients are wanting?
Yes, believe it or not it’s walls and doors! While an open floor plan is fun, there is peace and serenity in privacy. Furthermore, we find that sometimes the smallest gathering room in the house is the most well loved. There is something comforting about being in a small space where conversations tend to go deeper.
