Across Westchester County, towns come together with parades and ceremonies that bring the community together in gratitude and remembrance. Thursday, May 22, 2025

Larchmont/Mamaroneck Memorial Day Parade

  • Time: 7:00 PM

  • Route: Begins at Chatsworth Avenue Bridge, proceeds along Palmer Avenue to Larchmont Avenue, ending at Larchmont Village Hall.

  • Details: Line-up starts at 6:45 PM in Parking Lot #3 (above I-95) at the Larchmont Train Station. Hot dogs will be served at the end of the parade.

Harrison Memorial Day Tribute

  • Time: 6:00 PM

  • Location: Veterans Plaza, Library Park, Harrison, NY

  • Details: The tribute is organized by Harrison Post No. 282 American Legion and the Sgt. William Sawelson VFW Post 340. The ceremony will include remarks from veterans and town officials, as well as the reading of names of local service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

White Plains Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Route: Starts at Church Street and Main Street, proceeds to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in the Rural Cemetery on North Broadway.

  • Details: The parade features local veterans, scout troops, school bands, and community organizations.

New Rochelle Memorial Day Events

  • 9:30 AM: Waterside Ceremony at Hudson Park Sundeck, honoring those lost at sea.

Harrison Memorial Day Parade

  • Time: 10 AM

  • Route: Parade steps off from Halstead Avenue and proceeds to Ma Riis Park. Join the Harrison community in honoring our veterans with a parade featuring local officials, veterans, and community groups. The procession concludes at Ma Riis Park, where a ceremony will be held.

Pound Ridge Memorial Day Parade & Celebration

  • Time: 12:00 PM

  • Route: Begins at Pound Ridge Elementary School, marches to the cemetery for a ceremony.

  • Details: Post-parade festivities at Town Park include BBQ provided by The Market and the Pound Ridge PBA, along with live music.

Town of Bedford Memorial Day Parades and Ceremonies

  • Time: Various times throughout the day.

  • Details: Each of the three hamlets—Bedford Hills, Katonah, and Bedford Village—hosts its own parade and ceremony, continuing the town’s tradition of honoring veterans.

Rye Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

  • Time: 9:30 AM

  • Route: The parade will proceed through downtown Rye, concluding at the Village Green.

New Castle Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade

  • Time: 10:30 AM

  • Location: Victory Corners Monument, King Street and Bedford Road, Chappaqua

  • Details: This annual commemoration begins with a ceremony at the Victory Corners Monument and continues with a community parade.

Yorktown Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade

  • Time: 11:00 AM

  • Location: The Veteran Memorials Circle, 363 Underhill Ave., Yorktown

  • Details: Join the Town of Yorktown to honor our fallen heroes with a ceremony and rededication of the Korean War Monument, followed by a parade that will include community groups and local leaders.

Valhalla Memorial Day Parade

  • Time: 9:30 AM

  • Route: Starts on Westlake Drive behind the Valhalla Methodist Church.

  • Details: The parade honors local veterans and service members.

Mount Vernon Memorial Day Commemoration

  • Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Location: St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, 897 S. Columbus Ave., Mt. Vernon

  • Details: The program begins with a guided tour recalling the stories of some of the veterans buried in the historic cemetery. Special honors will be given to Private Peter Leier, who served in the Union Army during the Civil War, including a re-dedication of his gravestone. Descendants of Private Leier will join in the ceremony. At 1:00 PM, enjoy a live performance and sing-along of songs of the American Revolution and the Civil War, with historical commentary.
