Route: The parade will step off at 9:30 AM sharp from Westlake Drive (behind the Valhalla United Methodist Church). Participants are asked to arrive by 9:00 AM to line up.

Details: All community organizations and local leaders are warmly welcome to march, including Scouts, Little League teams, the Ambulance Corps, Fire Departments, and more. All veterans are especially invited to march alongside the American Legion Adolph Pfister Post 1038.

Mount Vernon Memorial Day Commemoration

Location: St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, 897 S. Columbus Ave., Mt. Vernon

Details: A commemoration of Memorial Day, beginning with an 11 am ceremony in the church, and followed by a tour, with flowers and flags, of the historic cemetery, exploring the lives and services of many of the veterans buried at the site. We will present special honors to Major Charles Turnbull who served in the artillery of the Continental Army during the revolutionary War. Descendants of Major Turnbull will be part of the commemoration. At 1:30 PM, there will be a performance, and sing along, of songs of the American Revolution and the Civil War.
