Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th, 2018.  The polls are open from 6 a.m to 9 p.m.  Still don’t know where you are to vote ?  Visit Westchester County’s Board of Elections via Westchester.gov to find out.  New York also offers absentee ballots by mail to voters who will be unable to vote in person.

In case you didn’t know, these midterm elections (held halfway between presidential elections) allow voters to elect 1/3 of all United States senators and ALL member of the House of Representatives.  These elections determine which political party – Democrat or Republican – will control each Chamber of Congress for the next two years.

Who are the candidates and who should I vote for ? 

Educate yourself on the candidates so you are not “voting blind”.  For a detailed list of National, State and County Candidates, visit the League of Women Voters Guide 2018enter your address on the left hand side and get your personalized ballot. 

What’s on the ballot?  

Statewide races cover governor, attorney general, comptroller and U.S. senator. Voters will also elect Supreme Court justices, a congressional representative, state senator and Assembly member – as well as choose candidates for local offices.
